The balustrades of Pingshan Hall lean into sunny azure skies, the hues of mountains lingering between being and nothingness. The weeping willows planted by my own hands before the hall—how many times has the spring breeze returned since our parting?
A prefect of literary prowess, wielding his brush over ten thousand characters, quaffing a thousand cups in a single draft. Merriment must be seized in the bloom of youth; gaze before your wine chalice upon this withered old man.

It is over; this struggle along the cliff’s edge has drawn to a close. Oh, time, you arrive in haste and depart in haste—between you and me, who won?

For three years, I forged my entire being into a single arrow bound for the Gaokao, battling the thorns along the road. I was alienated from my humanity, finding strange contentment alongside peers who were likewise alienated into exam-taking automatons.
